Principal Consultant
Joseph N. Raia

Joe Raia is the founder and President of Glimmerglass Consulting & Training, Inc. His extensive human resources, organization development, consulting and training expertise has been built through a solid mix of experience as an internal human resources executive within the broadcast industry and as an external consultant to numerous organizations. Over the years, Joe has consulted with leading organizations including Constellation Energy/Baltimore Gas & Electric, Eastman Kodak, Fannie Mae, Fidelity Investments, General Electric, Hoffmann-LaRoche, Loyola College, Microsoft, PJM Interconnection, Raycom Media, Showtime Networks, Texas Instruments, Viacom, and Volvo.

Joe’s consulting and training practice focuses on leadership development, performance management, process improvement, and organizational and team effectiveness. Joe provides the appropriate consulting balance of insight, guidance, and partnership to help clients strengthen their culture and achieve results. In the training and development arena, he designs, customizes and delivers a broad range of leadership and management development programs and processes. A strong facilitator, Joe helps individuals and groups clarify goals and methods for achieving and improving results. He has been invited to speak at several national conferences including the American Psychological Association, American Society for Training and Development, Center for Collaborative Organizations, Federal Asian Pacific American Council, Federally Employed Women, and National Image.

Prior to forming Glimmerglass in 1996, Joe was Vice President with Management Partners Incorporated. He led the training and development arm of that consulting firm, overseeing the development and delivery of a series of employee and management development processes. His consulting assignments included work in performance management, team development, skills assessment, quality assurance, change management, and GE’s Work-Out process.

Before moving into the external consulting role, Joe spent over ten years in a variety of human resources management and organization development positions in the broadcast industry. As Director of Organization and Management Development with the National Broadcasting Company, he had direct responsibilities for human resources consulting and operations for a number of client divisions. As Director of Human Resources for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., he was responsible for employee relations, organization development, and all human resources activities. Joe began his career in the public sector, working for the New York State Division of Probation, where he was responsible for designing and implementing an agency-wide management-by-objectives process.

Joe holds an M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and a B.S. in Psychology from the State College of New York at Oneonta.

Kristin Arnold:
An expert in team development and process improvement, Kristin helps corporations, government and non-profit organizations achieve extraordinary results. With years of team-building and facilitation experience, Kristin specializes in coaching executives and their leadership, management and employee teams, particularly in the areas of strategic, business and project planning, process improvement, decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving. An accomplished author and editor of several professional articles and books, Kristin graduated with high honors from the United States Coast Guard Academy and earned her MBA from St. Mary’s College in California.

Andy Beaulieu:
Andy brings the depth and insight gained through over twenty years of internal and external consulting to each performance improvement engagement. Working internally at financial services organizations such as Bank of America, T. Rowe Price, and USF&G Insurance, and externally with organizations such as NASD, American Airlines, and Fidelity Investments, Andy has designed leadership development programs, led reengineering efforts, constructed organizational and employee feedback processes, and developed work teams. Andy has authored eight book chapters published by Jossey-Bass and McGraw-Hill and several other articles. He has a Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degrees from the Wharton School and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.

Joelyn Brandon:
Joelyn is an international business consultant, instructional designer, and professional trainer/facilitator. For over twenty years, she has worked with a myriad of organizations, focusing her work on helping organizations develop strategic plans for improving operational productivity. She has led strategic projects and training efforts in a variety of quality improvement arenas. Joelyn holds a B.A. in English/Journalism from California State University and trainer certifications from the Graduate School of Business at UCLA.

Jim Mayer:
Jim has over thirty years of experience in supporting senior managers and executives in the design and successful implementation of change strategies for individuals, teams and organizations. He has worked with organizations on a global basis in the areas of strategic planning, organizational research and assessment, leadership coaching, process management, and team problem solving. Jim’s experience includes Vice President of Consulting Services at Manchester Partners, Director of Consulting and Training Services at Organizational Dynamics (ODI), and several years directing his own consulting practice. He earned his Doctorate from Harvard University where has also served as a Senior Associate at Harvard Business School’s Division of Research.

Betty Richardson:
Betty has held key roles as an internal Human Resources executive and as an external consultant for over twenty years. An expert in compensation design and performance management, she also provides guidance to client organizations in the design and delivery of management skills training, employee attitude surveys, and diversity management. Prior to moving into external consulting, Betty was the Director of Corporate Compensation Planning and Development for Eastman Kodak and Manager of Compensation at Harris Corporation/RF Communications. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Ithaca College in addition to certificates from Cornell’s Human Resource Executive Development Program and the American Compensation Association.

Jerry Schuerholz:
Jerry’s proficiency as a performance enhancement consultant, and his pragmatic approach to leadership development, is founded in his experience as a line manager in the telecommunications industry and as an external OD consultant to numerous organizations. His areas of focus include leadership and communication skills training, performance improvement, and organizational consulting. Accredited to administer a variety of assessment instruments, Jerry is a strong coach to leaders at all levels. Recognized as a model trainer, presenter and facilitator, Jerry has been featured in several training videos/DVDs. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at several universities including Rutgers University Center for Management Development and Towson University’s Corporate, Executive and Extended University.
